Adams visits Spain, Catalonia and the Basque country

Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams left for Spain on Tuesday for a three-day visit.

Adams is there at the invitation of his publisher Aguilar, who are publishing Hope and History.

While in Spain, Catalonia and the Basque country, Adams is scheduled to meet several political leaders; including the President of Catalonia, Pasqual Maragall; Josep Lluip Carod Rivera, the President of Esquerra Republicana de Cataluna, who are currently in the regional government of Catalonia and who support the minority Spanish government; Juan Jose Ibarretxe the President of the Basque Autonomous Government and a member of the Basque Nationalist Party; and Ardaldo Otegi, leader of the banned Batasuna and member of the Basque Parliament for Sozialista Abertzaleak.

Adams will travel to Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao.
