Derry to host Ógra National Congress

Derry city will play host to Comhdháil Náisiúnta Ógra Shinn Féin 2005 this coming weekend. The congress will commence on Saturday 29 January at 9pm and will coincide with events planned for the Bloody Sunday weekend.

Pearse Gormley, an Ógra activist involved in the organisation of the event, stresses the importance of attending this event for Ógra activists throughout the country. Pearse has called on all Ógra cumainn to provide representation as the congress will provide a positive forum for discussion and debate amongst young republican activists.

Pearse also reminds Ógra activists that: "In this centenary year of Sinn Féin the contribution of young people is vital to the furtherance of republican aims and objectives through active and innovative campaigns. The congress will provide a platform for the development of the Ógra Shinn Féin plan of action for the forthcoming year and it is essential that all young activists are present to voice their ideas and opinions."
