McAREAVEY (32nd Ann). In proud and loving memory of my brother Volunteer Daniel McAreavey 'D' Coy 2nd Batt, Belfast Brigade Oglaigh na hÉireann who died 6 October 1972. The years go quick and the time goes past but memories of you will never pass. I love you still like that day you sent me another way. I heard the shots that cut you down, I was so near but not around. I heard the cries of women's tears, I knew my greatest fears God had taken the one I loved to a better place up above. I hope some day to be with you in Gods own home, in Heaven above. Mary Queen of the Gael pray for him. The fools the fools have left us our Fenian dead and while Ireland holds these graves Ireland unfree shall never be at peace. From your loving brother Paddy.
