Ógra Shinn Féin push for All-Ireland elections

Ógra Shinn Féin is to launch a nationwide campaign calling for voting rights to be extended to citizens in the Six Counties for the Irish presidential election. The campaign will be formally launched by Sinn Féin MLA Gerry Kelly, at Ógra Shinn Féin's National Congress in Dublin this Saturday.

"This campaign will run the length and breadth of Ireland, from Kerry to Derry and will continue until we secure the first All-Ireland elections since 1918," said the National Organiser of Ógra Shinn Féin, Micky Bravender.

"We plan to organise mass rallies in support of this campaign, and more importantly, we will lobby every Council, government body and Corporation in Ireland to get their backing for this campaign.

"While we do not underestimate the challenges that lie ahead, we are confident that by the end of 2004 we will have made history in achieving the first all-Ireland elections in 86 years, and will have moved the prospect of Irish unity decisively forward."
