Always remembered by the Republican Movement

McELCAR, Peter. In loving memory of Volunteer Peter McElcar, Knock, Donegal, who died in action on 16th July 1976. From Catriona, Gerry McElwaine and family, Fanad. We also remember his comrade, Patrick Cannon. May they rest in peace.
McELWEE, Thomas. In proud and loving memory of Volunteer Thomas McElwee, who died on hunger strike on 8th August 1981 in the H-Blocks of Long Kesh. “We must take no steps backwards, our steps must be onwards, for if we don’t the martyrs who died for you, for me, for this country, will haunt us for eternity” — Máire Drumm. Always remembered by the Connolly/Hughes/McElwee Sinn Féin Cumann, Bellaghy.
