Party chair tours councils

Sinn Féin Chairperson Mitchel McLaughlin last Thursday visited a number of council areas around the North that presently have Sinn Féin mayors, deputy mayors and chairpersons.

He visited Cookstown Council offices, where he was welcomed by Cookstown Chairperson, Sinn Féin Councillor John McEntee and then met with senior Council officers. He then attended the launch of a booklet chronicling the history of Cookstown District Townland names.

Mitchel then travelled on to Coalisland, where he was met by Deputy Mayor of Dungannon, Sinn Féin Councillor Francie Molloy, and together they visited a number of local businesses. From Coalisland it was on to Dungannon to meet the Mayor, Sinn Féin Councillor Sean McGuigan and council officers. The mayor accompanied Mitchel on a visit to the local Enterprise Centre, where they were greeted by key management personnel, who give them a demonstration of the services provided and finished off with a tour of some of the small businesses that occupy the Enterprise Park.

From Dungannon the next stop was Armagh, where Mitchel was welcomed by the first ever Sinn Féin mayor of the Ecclesiastical Capital of Ireland, Councillor Pat O'Rawe. The Mayor hosted a well attended reception for Mitchel in her parlour.
