AS Sinn Féin prepares for a major public conference in Dublin this Sunday about the way forward, Sinn Féin Dáil Group Leader Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin tells ELLA O'DWYER that republicans are more determined than ever to reassert their place on the political landscape, grow stronger and build an all-Ireland republic. Major Sinn Féin conference in Dublin this weekend 
Sinn Féin is holding a major public conference, Engaging Modern Ireland, on Sunday, 9 December, in Griffith College Dublin. The conference follows intensive consultations within the party in the aftermath of the general election to agree on Sinn Féin's priorities for the coming years. Several key issues including economic development, community safety and policing, climate change and 'New Irish, New Communities' will be discussed. Each section will feature a number of special speakers and party delegates will also participate in the debate. Collusion - families call for full disclosure 
Relatives of collusion victims have reiterated their call for full disclosure after it was revealed the British Government had allowed the recently-established Consultative Group full access to the Stevens reports. Senior British policeman John Stevens conducted a series of investigations into allegations of British state-sponsored terrorism in the North of Ireland but, to date, the British Government has refused to publish his findings. Sinn Féin MLA John O'Dowd has welcomed the decision of the PSNI to give the Coroner in the North, John Lecky, access to the Stalker/Sampson Report into the shoot-to-kill deaths of six unarmed men in the North Armagh area in 1982. A legal battle over shoot-to-kill cases has been fought for years and the families have taken the issue to the European Court of Human Rights and the British House of Lords. An inquest was opened briefly in 1983 but in 1994 Leckey abandoned the cases after the RUC refused to release the documents. Speaking at a protest in Navan, County Meath on Saturday last, Sinn Féin Dáil leader and Health & Children spokesperson Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin said that the general public had an important role to play in ensuring better health services through maintaining pressure on the Government and on higher management of the Health Service Executive. PSNI challenged at Belfast DPP meeting 
THE PSNI was challenged over collusion between the RUC and loyalist killers at the first-ever meeting of a District Policing Partnership in West Belfast on Thursday night, 29 November. Many senior republicans from the area who attended the meeting were met by a small protest organised by members of the IRSP. There had been speculation that members of micro groups were planning to disrupt the meeting but any protest they may have been planning failed to materialise.
