Racists must be faced down

Sinn Féin MEP for Dublin, Mary Lou McDonald has urged people throughout Ireland to stand with ethnic minority communities against the scourge of racism. The Sinn Féin MEP said the party is committed to tackling all forms of racism and building an inclusive and multicultural Ireland.

Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams will return today, Thursday 11 November, from a nine-day visit to the US, which saw him attend events in New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, San Francisco and Washington. As well as taking part in Friends of Sinn Féin functions, he met with senior Congress members, Senators and Governors, and with Irish American organisations, to update them on the ongoing efforts in the Peace Process.

No credibility - IMC and Policing Board report

The International Mon-itoring Commission has no credibility within the broad nationalist and republican community and the contents of the latest IMC report are of little interest to it, said Sinn Féin's spokesperson on Justice Gerry Kelly after the publication of the IMC's third report last week.

"Monaghan Hospital cuts neither forgiven nor forgotten" - Ó Caoláin

The axing of key services in Monaghan General Hospital has been "neither forgotten nor forgiven" and the community in Monaghan "remains absolutely determined" to ensure the return of these services, according to TD Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin. He was speaking in a Dáil debate highlighting the shortfalls in health provision in the Northeastern Health Board area.

Day of Reflection to remember all war dead

Sinn Féin will hold civic ceremonies throughout the Six Counties remembering all those who died during the conflict and the two world wars on 10 December, International Human Rights day. At a press conference in Belfast on Tuesday, five of the party's mayors and chairs in the Six Counties, Gearóid Ó hEára (Derry), Jarlath McNulty (Strabane), Seán Clarke (Omagh), Gerry McHugh (Fermanagh) and Patsy Groogan (Magherafelt), announced a series of events to be held in their districts on that day.
